In 1988 Tracey Chapman released her self-titled debut, which was quickly regarded as one of the most integral albums released in the 1980s. Featuring hits like “Fast Car” and “Talkin’ About Revolution” it turned Chapman into an overnight success and pushed her to the forefront of the music industry. In this little seen interview she talks about what it was like to be thrust into the limelight, how she stayed grounded and what it was like to perform at Nelson Mandela’s 70th Birthday show in London, the performance that made her a star.
