Greenday Rare Interview
Published on Fri, Oct 4th 2019 Entertainment Rectangular SD
Emerging from the nadir of California’s suburban punk scene in the 1990s, Green Day captured universal themes of teenage angst on their 1994 album, Dookie. After a decade spent in the wilderness they reasserted themselves into public consciousness with American Idiot, a furious, sprawling rock opera about the invasion of Iraq. In this candid interview, the band talk about the difficulty of growing up in public, how their failures pushed them to work harder than ever and what it means to an idiot in George W. Bush’s America. This is a candid snapshot of one of rock’s biggest bands on the cusp of stardom.
