Thank you @MorganDonner for putting some of your hair at risk! ❤

While I've always wanted to try a historical hair dye recipe, most that I've come across over the past 8 years have made me nervous with their ingredients - either their potential toxicity or lack of availability - so when I came across this very doable and natural hair dye recipe from The Toilette of Health and Beauty from 1833, I thought it would be super fun to give it a try. The only issue is that my hair is not dye friendly, luckily, Morgan has hair to spare and volunteered some of her tresses for this experiment when we were all together in Louisville, KY last month (https://youtu.be/vOkN47KmhTI)

From making the dye, to actually dying Morgan's hair, this has probably been one of the more disgusting ventures I've ever done. (give my 18th-century pomade from sheep and pig fat any day of the week...) and I hope you all enjoy ✨ the journey ✨
