GE window AC unit cycling off and on with error 88, hack & repair. Model AHS08LXW1 & others - VOTD

Published on Mon, May 6th 2024 Autos & Vehicles Rectangular HD

AC Control panel replacement: 15 to 30 minutes ($80 / $200 / $200)

Control panel PN: WJ26X22187

In this video I worked on our window AC. Several video's show how to hack into the AC wiring to make the unit run. The control boards get damaged either from condensation or power surges. At any rate, the control board needs repaired or replaced. A service call from a professional plus part would cost as much as a new unit so it really isn't worth the call. This video like other's will show you how to get it running and properly repaired if you choose to do that route. The part number for this specific unit is WJ26X22187.

My name is Robert Spinner and I like to fix things. I can remember fixing things as far back as when I was 9 years old. I have repaired a lot of different stuff, from computers, to appliances, to cars and even airplanes, if it is around the house, I have likely fixed it. I hope you enjoy the videos and you find something useful. Please share so others can learn how to fix things themselves.
