À Montréal, le vieux pont Champlain s’étirait sur 3,4 kilomètres. Sa structure de béton et d’acier menaçait de s’effondrer. Pendant trois ans, les ingénieurs et les travailleurs l’ont déconstruit en enlevant les pièces une par une, dans un ordre savamment calculé. Le défi: ne pas contaminer le fleuve Saint-Laurent qui se trouve en dessous.
