Barrett's Privateers - Fast live Pub Scene Acapella Version - Stan Rogers (cover) - Barrett's Privateers is a modern folk song written and performed acapella by Canadian musician Stan Rogers. While there is no better version than Stan's classic Sea Shanty Version of this tune. I am fortunate enough to play at many touring venues on the water and we dock at "Halifax Pier" so this is definitely a staple to play when we are headed home to the dock. In this version I increase the tempo as I like to get through the entire song, all 9 versus with lots of interest from listener's the whole way through and found that this tempo works for me in a live setting so I thought I'd pass it along to you folks.
