High Speed Crossing of 290 km/hr: 12716 Sachkhand Express Meets Dust Storm Raising Gatimaan Express!

A perfect clash of titans witnessed at Palwal station when I was on an evening excursion on a hot summer evening. Firstly, more than 5 hours late running Sachkhand Express made it's presence felt... the Huzur Saheb Nanded bound 12716 Sachkhand Express led by Ghazibad's White Beast ie. GZB WAP-7#30658 left no stone unturned in delivering a power packed show as it belted past the Palwal station at 130 km/hr speed. Just as the late running Sachkhand Express swept past us in a jiffy.. in came the ferocious Evening Showstopper of the New Delhi - Agra route lashing out duststorm on it's return leg to Delhi. This was none other than the prestigious 12049 Gatimaan Express that was all in a mood for business as it lashed out it's usual aggression and made it's presence felt at Palwal station. Led by the Ghaziabad's Speed Demon ie. GZB WAP-5#35019, the Gatimaan Express first exchanged greetings with the LP's of Sachkhand Express while raising the dust storm and then smoothly negotiated the curve at the station outer and while hammering past the points at flat 160 km/hr speed. In no time the speed demon disappeared into it's own trail of duststorm while we were still relishing the chills of the 160 km/hr speed show.

It was an awesome sight to behold as the two giants of Northern Railways exchanged their greetings at a relative speed of 280 km/hr.!!
