Side table made from old oak beam
Published on Thu, Dec 12th 2019 Howto & Style Rectangular HD
In this video I make a side table as gift to a good friend of mine.
When making this piece, i decided to use very old oak beam I found at home. It counted more than hundred annual rings on it and visibly already begun to collapse.
I cut it into slices and filled all oak damages with epoxy resin.
The leg I cut off from the ash board with nice wooden fibres on it, and the bottom stand I made from oak.
The table turned out steady, strong and not too heavy only 12 kg weight.
Usualy when I start making anything I only have an idea and the rest comes together in the process of making.
Thanks for watching!
