I'm not dead! Real videos are in the works, but YouTube has somewhat forced my hand as far as putting *something* out. This was the only thing I could assemble in-time for this week's Commenting on Comments on the Neebs channel.

I wanted to leave this as it was naturally, so that you could get the best feel for what it might be like to edit a Neebs video. This is one of the final steps in the process for me: adding music and syncing the clips with it.

► THE PROCESS:
For a normal video I start by cutting the dialogue and completely ignoring the video. After a few passes of that, I move on to choosing angles. Once most of my angles are chosen, I then clean audio (cut out any segments of audio where individuals aren't speaking).

After that comes crushing all of the game audio into a single track in a way that aligns with whichever angle is being shown. I then normalize all of the game and vocal audio to be consistent throughout the video, and once that's reasonably good I add in the music, sound effects, sound design (the echos and muffled voices you hear in the videos) and nameplates.

Then are the final touches of adding in missing establishing shots as well as the intro and outro.

I am far faster now than I was when I was working on this episode, and my process has changed a pretty significant amount since then, but I thought some people might be interested in peaking behind the curtain a bit.

Description
I make cool things. Also really dumb nerdy things. Ah well.

"Adahop" is a combination of the names of two people who were invaluable to the development of computers: Ada Lovelace and Grace Hopper. Ada Lovelace is recognized as the world's first computer programmer and Dr. Adm. Grace Hopper (that's Doctor AND Admiral) wrote the world's first program compiler and coined the terms "bug" and "debug".
