DR650 v KTM: there can only be one winner!︱Cross Training Adventure

Ajouté le jeu. 26 sept. 2013 Sport Rectangular HD

Thorough test of the DR650 against a range of KTM dirt bikes and other enduro bikes. As expected, the DR650 came out top dog and confirmed it's credentials as best dirt bike ever made. The ultimate Suzuki DR650 review. Tyre shredding acceleration. Chain snapping torque. Bowel loosening thrills. Long recognised as the best motorcycle ever built in Suzuki DR650 reviews, it has also faced extreme prejudice due to its phenomemal power output. Just one ride of a DR650 and you can see why Casey Stoner, Graham Jarvis and other top riders want to ride a DR650 in competition. Seen as an unfair advantage, the DR650 has been banned from all major motosports including motocross, moto GP and enduro. Are you ready to risk your life for the ultimate ride on the DR650 epic enduro beast? The many faces of the Suzuki DR650. Trials. Desert racing. Motocross. And Moto G P. Should you buy a Suzuki DR650? Just remember this important statistic. And good luck old chap. Getting into trials riding... Losing traction is a cardinal sin in trials riding and riders go to extreme lengths to ensure their tires don't slip. We still don't know the horsepower of the DR650 because it keeps breaking they dyno machine. Who created this absurdly powerful bike? It wasn't the usual Suzuki engineers according to Suzuki DR650 reviews. The wheelie beast. I've owned a pile of different bikes and for some reason the old DR650 is the one that enjoyed itself with the front wheel in the air. Why? Buggered if I know. Thanks to the good natured crew I ride with who don't mind appearing in a slightly ironic motorbike video. Most of them weren't really stuck on those hill climbs! Designed back in the jurassic era, it's one of the few dinosaurs left, just read the Suzuki DR650 reviews. Air cooled. Five speed. Cable clutch. It has barely changed since 1996. And the Suzuki DR650 comes highly restricted from the factory but will still pop the front wheel up everywhere even in the ridiculously high third gear if you read the Suzuki DR650 review. To the tiny few who get their knickers in a knot watching this, look up the meaning of "irony", lighten up and also post some evidence you can actually ride. Funny how the only people who get shitty about videos never post evidence they can ride! :-) For some reason they outsourced to this design team for the DR650. These misfits also went on to design the DR800 which was taken out of production when it killed too many riders. Thankfully the DR1800 never went into production. Although that can get a bit nerve wracking as it means highway speed and beyond which could be nasty if it flipped according to Suzuki DR650 reviews. The weird thing is at one point I owned a KTM 690 and it was much harder to wheelie, not an epic enduro beast. Everything in tough gnarly terrain is trying to throw you off balance, so balancing lays a foundation for enduro skills for guys like Jonny Walker and Ruben Chadwick. Anyway I only did this video because supporters asked if I could string together all the Suzuki DR650 wheelie vids in one video. Sure, it put out close to double the horsepower but it felt harder to lift and keep on the balance point. Maybe it was just me, but I was extremely disappointed and of course went back to a Suzuki DR650 (not just for the wheelies of course). These Suzuki DR650 bikes have certainly carved out a reputation for themselves. Most trials techniques involve exact use of the clutch e.g. feathering the clutch for traction control up hills... dropping the clutch to launch the bike into the air as Jonny Walker and Graham Jarvis can do on extreme enduro racing bikes and trials bikes. The cross training enduro vids on our dirt bike channel apply the same skills to enduro bikes - you'll be amazed at the difference it makes in terms of traction and advanced techniques such as jumping up vertical rock faces ... and wheelies! The massive single just made the bike jump up and down on the one spot. A major problem faced by Suzuki was obtaining test riders for the DR650. They did not need to be skilled riders. Suzuki needed riders who had a death wish, or had a sufficiently low I Q that they were unable to assess the risks involved. Being such an old design, they have a ridiculously long list of known issues, and a few of these can actually kill the engine. But many of us enjoy the process of fixing these, update the suspension, and end up with an ultra reliable bike that is way cheaper than its bling ridden adventure competititors. If you are interested, I've done an entire series and Suzuki DR650 review on transforming the Suzuki DR650 into a kick arse adventure bike... and wheelie beast.

Description
Cross Training Adventure Riding is the dim witted cousin of our dirt riding channel - Cross Training Enduro. We mess around along the east coast of Australia on a variety of adventure bikes. Older vids feature the famous DR650, but we are moving toward bigger bikes, a bit more road, and into the more traditional sense of adventure riding as most know it!
